When intu rebranded with their bird logo it was decided that their bird logo should be generated in 3D form, to perch at varying locations across their sites to assist with their brand recognition.

There were a mixed bag of locations with some being indoors and up close, some tucked away and almost hidden; and some high up outside on the buildings which required quite sizeable birds, despite not actually appearing that big as they were so far away.

This entailed the generation of a scaled family of sizes of birds to allow maximum impact at each of the chosen locations. Fibreglass was chosen as the most durable and adaptable, and repeatable material for the required numbers, and a system of mounting was also developed.

Another part of the rebrand required a design for new leaflet holder displays across all of their sites. They wanted a practical and durable display system, to be fitted across varying setups across the sites. There was also a specific requirement that no penetrating fixings like screws, be used so that the units could be moved around between locations without causing any damage.

This required the development of a unique mounting setup with a panel to be tape bonded to the desk surface before attaching the display unit and bolting it into place from the sides. The system worked really well, being very easy to install, with a universal template, and once in place, it was tamperproof and extremely durable.
