Costal Columns

  • 9 of 35

As part of the Bridlington-Renaissance regeneration scheme, these illuminating columns were proposed by Sutton Vane Associates to modernise the seafront and help strengthen the nighttime economy.

Worked through from rough initial concept sketches to CAD models renders, and scaled mock-ups, the design and aesthetic were developed substantially.

The blending effect generated by varying the lighting colours at the two ends proves to be particularly effective, with the mesh surround acting both to enhance the lighting effect, while also preventing the structure from being climbed.
